né Daniel Woodward
I lead forward deployed engineers at NiCE Cognigy. We embed with enterprise customers and ship voice and agentic AI into production. In my own time I build an agentic harness that works for me, and I test ideas about agents in public.

CV
Fifteen years of first-on-the-ground roles, from presales to forward deployed engineering.
How I work
The agentic harness I built: it reads my email, researches, runs tests and drafts posts, and asks me on Signal before anything leaves the Mac.
Posts
Field notes and small studies on agents in production, with the numbers.
Trees
I plant a tree on our land for every 21 kg of CO2e my agents use.
About the name
Holt is an old English word for a wood, a nod to Woodward. Mere is a lake, from our love of the Lake District. Together: the wood by the lake. It also says where I'm happiest: outdoors, on our smallholding in the Shropshire Hills.
